Volunteering

Interested In Volunteering with us?

Blind Mums Connect is a rapidly growing national organisation, which is absolutely reliant on its dedicated volunteer team. We are constantly seeking Volunteers to assist us, so if you feel you have benefited from being part of forums or groups, and have spare time and energy to contribute to activities, we’d be delighted to hear from you! Associate members are also very welcome to volunteer with us.

Volunteers can get involved in a variety of ways. Some roles require a lot of time, whilst others are more flexible, and temporary volunteer help is very welcome, as well as volunteers to fill specific posts in the organisation. Projects requiring ongoing volunteer input include: publicity, fundraising, visual web design and events. If you are interested in becoming a support group facilitator, or Facebook/email forum admin, (full members only), please get in touch, so that we can bear you in mind as and when posts become vacant.

To register your interest in volunteering, please complete the online Volunteer Application Form, which will be automatically sent to our volunteer coordinator. She will then contact you for a chat, which will give you the chance to find out more about the organisation and the role you are interested in, and for us to learn a little about you and the skills and experience you are bringing. Following that discussion, the volunteer coordinator will discuss your application with the committee, and once your application is approved, she will put you in touch with the team members you will be working alongside.

Our aim is to keep volunteer enrolment as quick and easy as possible for you! All personal details you provide on your application will be kept in strict accordance with the Data Protection Act.

Please note: Support Group Facilitators, forum admins and Committee members must all be full members, but associate members are most welcome to assist in other volunteer roles.

If you wish to apply to be a support group facilitator, you will need to complete our support group facilitator application form (off line), and provide a supportive reference. You can find out more by contacting our volunteer coordinator via

Please see our Volunteer Guidelines, to find out more about what’s involved and what you get out of joining us! We look forward to hearing from you!

If you have any difficulties applying online or have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
